Yoni, Yonah 2022

"Going on Hineni Shnat was one of the best decisions I've ever made. I had considered almost every other program available, and I genuinely believe this program is one of the best available for  Jewish Australian youth. I really connected with the small group that we had, and continue to maintain many of my friendships from the program. The structure of moving around, although challenging, is one of the best parts. Despite finding it difficult at times, we learnt to work as a team and got through the rougher parts of the program and its challenges. I seriously recommend this program to any and all Jewish school/leavers looking for a fun yet growth-oriented Israel program."

Gabi, Selah 2019

“Shnat was the first time in my life I felt truly connected to Israeli culture, having spent several months there getting to know the many facets of Israeli society. I came back with an interest in Israeli social issues and politics that's grown into passion. Shnat fostered the values that make me who I am today.”

“Hineni Shnat allowed me to wholly centre myself on the values I hold dear. I was able to live out and wrestle with the challenges and experiences that come from our unique ideology; diversity is what makes Hineni special. We are not clones and  we all hold immense value and can sustain diversity through our thriving value-based community. Shnat allowed me to tether myself to all kinds of Jewish and Zionist experiences which will help me strengthen my community well into my old age… learning how to kasher, harvesting, textual learning at Pardes, dancing at Zorba, mourning in Poland, debating at Machon.”

Sheina, Shnat 2015

"Hineni Shnat was one of the most incredible experiences of my life to date. It was a truly meaningful journey that allowed me to become more engaged with my Judaism, and form a deeper connection to Israel. Being so immersed in Israeli society for 10 months was a special, eye opening experience, which also helped me form my own unique connection to Israel. We saw what it meant to live in Israel and do our part for society. I had the opportunity of seeing Israel through the lens of a First Aid responder for MDA. I wouldn’t have been able to get that anywhere else."

Guy, Shnat 2014

"Every day brought a new experience and that has lead me to become the person that I am today. Hineni has always meant a lot to me, and having that as the root of my year helped set me up for my future. The independence I gained was immense and the friendships I formed, even more significant.

This program directs you towards a path to becoming a better person, and offers you the skills to allow the same for others. I was once told a saying that “as we let our own lights shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same”. The Hineni Shnat program has allowed my light to shine."
