HINENI COVID-19 INFORMATION

The safety of our participants is Hineni’s top priority. Hineni is closely monitoring COVID-19 guidelines and collaborating with NSW Health and DHS (VIC) to ensure that all government requirements are being met at all Hineni events. We are also in the process of developing a COVID safety plan in the lead up to Summer camp season that will be distributed to all participants prior to any camp that is run. You may need to sign additional documents prior to camp. For any questions or further details please contact the Rosh of your respective state:

Sydney: Aaron sydney@hineni.org.au

Melbourne: Jaimie melbourne@hineni.org.au

WHERE ARE THE CAMPSITES?
Hineni camps are held at modern, well equipped and comfortable campsites. For security reasons, the campsite's location and details regarding drop-off and pick-up will only be disclosed to campers and parents upon the receipt of the camp application form and full payment, or in discussion with the heads of camp.

WHAT ACTIVITIES WILL MY CHILD BE DOING ON CAMP?

We provide a range of activities from the campsite and run by our staff. Please see the 'Camp Experience' page for more details.

WHAT FOOD WILL BE SERVED?

Hineni has dedicated kitchen staff on camp who prepare a meal plan in advance to include a balanced diet of all the food groups. We also stock extra fruit for snacks during the day in addition to the 3 full meals. Being a Modern Orthodox movement we pride ourselves on upholding the standards that it entails, including kashrut. We kasher the campsite kitchens and all our utensils and cutlery are of the highest kosher standards.

WHAT IF MY CHILD HAS DIETARY REQUIREMENTS/ALLERGIES?

When you fill out the camp forms, there is a specific area to let us know of all your childrens' allergies and dietary requirements. If it is written there, we will ensure they are catered for.

CAN MY CHILD BRING SNACKS?

There is no need for snacks to be brought up to camp as we provide full meals and have a daily tuckshop chanichim can buy snacks from. However, if your child does bring snacks on camp, please be aware that Hineni is a strictly kosher and nut-free environment.

IS THERE SECURITY ON CAMP?

The safety and security of children on camp is of the highest priority. Madrichim are familiar with all emergency procedures, equipped with two-way radios and employ a personal system of guard duty at all hours. This ensures that any matters that need to be addressed during the night are well handled.

IS THERE A MEDIC ON CAMP?

Hineni always has a qualified medic on camp who has undertaken first aid training and has current CPR certification. All medications will be kept and administered by the medic. In the unlikely event of an emergency, a hospital, medical practice and police station are located nearby the campsite and the medic will be in close communication with parents

CAN I GET HOLD OF MY CHILD ON CAMP?

The heads of camp as well as the shaliach will have phones on them at all times and children can be contacted through them. If you choose to send your child with a mobile phone please be aware that it cannot be used during program or meal times as it detracts from the camp environment for your child and others around them.

MY CHILD WILL NEED TO ARRIVE LATE OR LEAVE EARLY
We understand that the holidays are a busy time so please contact the Roshim of camp if your child will need to come late or leave early in order to attend camp. We will endeavour to ensure everyone is able to enjoy the special camp experience!
Please note that chanichim will not be able to leave or arrive to camp over Shabbat.

MY CHILD HAS NEVER ATTENDED A HINENI CAMP BEFORE

Hineni welcomes new camp participants. We believe in providing an inclusive, friendly environment. There will be many other first time campers and they will be supported by previous campers and camp leaders.

IS FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE AVAILABLE?
It is Hineni’s policy that no child should miss out on camp for financial reasons. Should you have any serious financial issues or difficulties please do not hesitate to contact our treasurers relevant for your respective camp:
